*Sorry for no still images from the film and the short length of the review.
If it's anything I hate, it's misogny. The mistreatment of women really grinds my gears. Project X is a great example of treating women like objects, and not like human beings. The writer, director and actors don't seem to care for the respect of women. It seems as though every other line is filled with a negative comment towards women. This movie feels like, not a slap nor a punch, but a bullet to the face of any woman. They deserve way better than this.
According to the filmmakers, Racism and Homophobia are HI-LARIOUS. At one point the dog in the film is called a f****t(I refuse to put that word in print uncensored. I have respect for others). Racial slurs, particularly against mexicans and asian-americans, are also thrown around like a rag-doll. This has to be the most offenseive film ever to be concieved onto american people. This movie makes me so livid that Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer seem like cinematic gods. Do realize how bad you have to be to make me utter those words?
Costa and JB(played by two actors who won't be remebered for anything else) wants to throw a birthday party for their friend Thomas. He only wants it to be a small gathering, but UH-OH, they send a message to everyone in the school! Natrually chaos ensues. Drugs, money, alcohol and a dog are thrown around. Then his house gets destroyed. But does he feel any remorse? Nooooo! Far from it.
This is the most deplorable film ever made. It is actually beloved in my school(keep in mind, I am a sophmore in High School at the time of writing this). But we all know, the mentallity of high-schoolers doesn't raise above that of a peanut. Sorry to offend but it's kind of true. I've been told it's the best party movie ever. No it's not! Is this the worst film I have ever seen? No. But it came very, very close.
